Glitterdays Week 3

21 Dec

20121221-094943.jpg

This week I wore Sinful Colors’ Frenzy. It’s a purple and blue glitter polish. I love the fact that it’s 2 colors – makes the mani more fun.

I used 3 coats because I didn’t like the way 2 looked.

I think I’m gonna go with the gold & green one for New Years. I might even add garnet to the mani so I could start my birthstone manis lol

Happy holidays!! ⛄🎅🎄🎁

@Refinery29’s Holiday Pop-Up

16 Dec

The other day my BFF Jill Jess sent me a link to Refinery29’s 8 Free Indulges, 1 Holiday Pop-Up. She knew I’ve been wanting to get a psychic reading / tarot reading for the longest (I promise there’s a nail reference coming up) and saw there was a free reading listed. Needless to say, we went. We got to Refinery29 and immediately saw the card table. There was an over 1 hour wait, so we decided to look around. I must have a nail polish radar because the very next thing I saw was a nail polish station.

There was no1 in the seat (the person was late) so I started talking with the manicurist, Rachel. I showed her my manicure and she loved the glitter. We then decided to try crackle over the glitter. We both thought it was different and interested in seeing how it would turn out. It didn’t. It did not work at all. Saddened and determined to find something that worked, we tried a different brand and color. Shut down! We quickly realized crackle and glitter DON’T MIX!

Rachel was nice enough to add a different color glitter to my accent nails and threw a strip of black polish over the tips. It was cute and gave me yet ANOTHER idea! I might have to start writing them down lol.

New Beginnings

16 Dec

I found that I enjoy featuring different types of polishes – not only does it let me enjoy my nails more, but it also allows me to buy more polishes :-).

After only 2 weeks of my Glitterdays – which I LOVE- I’ve decided to feature one color each month- I might take it further and do birth stone colors. After I finish having fun with glitter, I’m going to start with Garnet/ red.

Happy Glitterdays!! This week my mani is yet another sparkly one :-). I usually use a base color coat under the glitter polish to make it pop, but this week I wanted to try something new. Instead of a base color, I just used a clear polish (Wet & Wild) to protect my nails and then applied 3 medium/thick coats of Sinful Colors – Queen of Beauty ($1.99). The final results reminded me of silver Christmas garland, which is perfect since Christmas is like 2 weeks away). When I do decide to use this polish again, I will more than likely use a silver base.

What are you wearing this holiday season?

Happy polishing!!

‘Tis The Season…. For Glitter

2 Dec

This week I’m all about the glitter. I like to wear glitter polishes with a matching base color. It instantly glams up the manicure. The teal base color I used is Sinful Colors – Rise and Shine. My new sparkly best friend is Wet & Wild’s Spoiled – Use Protection.

Both are $1.99ea.

I totally LOVE the way the glitter pops with the teal!
